Dawn Lundergan

Dawn is currently the Director of Safeguarding at Stonyhurst College, an independent Jesuit boarding school in the Diocese of Salford, England. Prior to this she was the Director of Safeguarding at the Diocese of Salford, supporting the diocese and religious orders in their response to childhood sexual abuse.

She has substantial experience of supporting survivors, and in collaboration with two survivors’ charities established ‘Healing through Community’ an independent service, run by both professionals and lived experience experts, with the acknowledgment from the Church that survivors deserve the best support available to them.

She has worked as a Local Authority Designated Officer, developing a specialism in professionals in a position of trust and has a long history of working with children and families in statutory settings. She has a masters degree in child protection and child welfare and has an interest in creating organisational cultures of safeguarding. Dawn is specialist investigator trained and has led on a number of complex cases.
