ACADEMIC DAY PRESENTER
Douglas Russell is a Senior Research Officer at the Australian Catholic University’s Institute of Child Protection Studies.
Under the directorship of Professor Daryl Higgins, Douglas leads the Institute’s Children and Young People’s Safety Project. The project focuses on providing organisations with the perceptions of safety of children and young people who attend their activities and interact with them as well as the capabilities of volunteers, workers, and other affiliated adults in preventing and responding appropriately to sexual abuse and grooming.
Douglas works with Catholic, secular and organisations in other faiths to support children’s safety and wellbeing.
