Wolfgang Stein studied psychology and pedagogics (M.A.).

He is engaged as a voluntary member of the Independent Commission for the Processing of Sexual Abuse (Diocese of Magdeburg), as a voluntary member of the Survivor’s Board at the Independent Commissioner for Child Sexual Abuse and as a voluntary member of the Central Patient and Relatives Advisory Board of the German Centre for Mental Health.

Wolfgang retired in 2018, lives in Magdeburg, Germany, is married and has an adult daughter.

In his free time he enjoys cycling.
